AKC Lure Coursing Judging Seminar

·       Would you like to know more about the rules of lure coursing?

·       Have you considered becoming a lure coursing judge?

·       Are you a judge and want to review the rules and take the test?

Then, join us for this informative and fun, one day AKC Lure Coursing Seminar. AKC Field Representative, and lure coursing judge, Terry Sayre will present this seminar using lecture, PowerPoint presentation and group participation.  Educational materials will be provided. At the end of the seminar, participants can take the judge’s test on-line at their convenience.

This seminar is required for those individuals who would like to become an AKC lure coursing judge. The requirements for becoming a judge can be found at: https://www.akc.org/sports/coursing/lure-coursing/judges-eligibility/

FEES:                $50.00 ** per person

                           ** No dogs are allowed at the seminar per AKC request. There is a small boardroom next to the meeting room that can

be used to crate dogs during the seminar.

                           ** Limited rooms blocked for event. A king standard room is $199 per night for Thursday, Friday and Sunday and $350

The seminar location is approximately an hour and 20 minutes from the Portland International airport and approximately an hour and 15 minutes from the Seattle Tacoma International Airport.  There are hotels near the airports or a few local hotels half an hour from Happy Trails.  Additional lodging information and camping information will be provided in the trial premium list.

AKC lure coursing trials will be offered by the Northwest Rhodesian Ridgeback Club at Happy Trails in Ethel, WA July 12th and 13th, 2025. Terry Sayre will join us for the weekend. There will be opportunities for mentoring with other AKC judges and crew for hands-on experience at the trial following the seminar.  The Premium List will be posted on the AKC website and at nwrrc.net/premiums .
