September 2016 NWRRC Meeting Minutes

Saturday September 10, 2016

The Northwest Rhodesian Ridgeback Club meeting was called to order by President Sarah Smith Falker  at 3:40PM.  This meeting followed Group judging at the All Hound Club of Bellingham  held in Burlington, Washington.  Present were Marykay Ligocki,  Pat Hess, Elaine Monson, Stephanie Krogness, Lorraine Petersen and Sarah Falkner Smith.

Sarah said that she  doesn’t have a report but that she is pleased with how the club is looking with a nice membership but would like to see more members attend meetings.      She also mentioned that she ordered the FAST CAT ribbons and that Dorian Mell will be sending me an invoice.       Things are coming together for the FAST CATS at the Wenatchee show in Cashmere but we are hoping members that are going to that show will help with set up on Saturday morning as they won’t have the equipment there until very late Friday night.

NWRRC is  going to have the Obedience Rally Trial again at the June Puyallup show.

The Treasurer, Pat Hess, reported that NWRRC has $6500 in the bank.    Pat also brought up some expense wording for both supported shows and money that goes to a special trophy fund.      In talking to Jillyn Myers at the Hound Show in August, Jillyn suggested two Oregon supported shows – the January Portland shows and the Cascade Hound Show and said she would help anyone who wants to support those shows.       Debbie Brower also said the same thing for supported shows here in WA – she will be glad to help anyone who wants to support those shows.      It was suggested that NWRRC and/or RRCUS support the June Puyallup show and the All Hound Club of Bellingham next year.      We will again support the Trophy Fund for the WWHA show at Argus.     We will send out an email to the membership as to which WA shows you all think should be supported.

Second reading for the following applicants who were then voted in.

Connie and Chris Schrock, Olympia, WA.      Sponsor Pat Hess    Connie and Chris came to our ASFA trial and helped the club out a lot.

Lorraine suggested that we still have time to put together a Rescue basket for the 2016 Natonal Specialty if the Piott’s have room for it in their van.       We also discussed a Rescue basket for the 2017 National Specialty in Portland.

We will have the  June Obedience/Rally trial in conjunction with EBC again in 2017.

NWRRC or RRCUS will host a Welcome Night at the 2017 National Specialty.    Sarah will get more info on that.

Temperament Testing:    There is an upcoming ATCS test in Battleground soon.    Dogs need to over 1.5 years old.   Some tests are Breed specific.    Lorraine Pedersen is licensed for one station.

New Business

Elaine Monson would like to start working on some Fund Raising for NWRRC and was told that we would like that.

Sarah made a motion to adjourn at 4:05PM and Marykay seconded it – motion passed.
